The terms, in plain words.

What you are buying

Provenplot is a subscription service run by Silk Creative Labs LLC. For one website, Vera reads the pages you already have, proposes improvements to some of them, and keeps a matched set of pages unchanged so that the effect of the improvements can be measured against them over 90 days.

Nothing is published to your website without your approval. Each improvement is shown to you beside the current text, and only what you approve goes anywhere near your site. You publish approved changes yourself, or through a connection you set up to your website's code or content system.

The free check on our homepage is not part of the subscription and creates no account. It reads a sample of the public pages at an address you type and reports what it found.

Your account and your website

You must own the website you add, or have the owner's permission to change it. We check ownership before doing anything. You are responsible for what is published on your website, including improvements you approve.

To measure results, you connect your Google Search Console account. Vera can read it and never change it. You can disconnect it at any time from your website's page, and we stop reading immediately. Our privacy page says exactly what is read and how it is kept.

Price and payment

The price is $149 a month per website for the first 25 websites to subscribe, kept for as long as that subscription stays active, and $249 a month per website after that. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any sales tax that applies where you are.

Your first 14 days are free. Payment is taken by Stripe, on the day the free days end and monthly after that, using the card you provide. We never see or store your card number.

If a payment fails, we tell you and try again. If it keeps failing, the subscription pauses: nothing further is published, and your results page stays available to you.

Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel at any time from your website's page, in one click, with no notice period and no call. Cancelling stops the next charge. Your subscription runs to the end of the period you have already paid for, and every improvement you approved stays on your website. There is nothing to remove and nothing we take back.

Cancelling during the free 14 days costs nothing.

Monthly payments already made are not refunded, including for the part of a month left when you cancel. This is because the work in each month is done as the month goes on, and because the guarantee below is how we make good on results, rather than a refund.

If we charged you in error, or charged the wrong amount, we refund the difference in full. Write to hello@provenplot.com and it is handled within two working days.

The guarantee

You pay for the first 90 days of a plan either way. If, at the end of those 90 days, the pages we improved are not ahead of the matched pages we left alone, the next 90 days are free. It is applied to your subscription automatically; there is nothing to claim.

The guarantee is a comparison, not a promise about rankings or traffic. It applies once per customer, and only when the plan ran its full 90 days on a website with at least 40 eligible pages and a Google connection that stayed in place. What we do not promise

Nobody can promise a position in Google's results, an amount of traffic, or an amount of business, and we do not. Google changes how it ranks pages without notice, and the same change can help or hurt any page, including ours.

Vera's suggestions are produced by software. They can be wrong, out of date, or unsuitable for your business. That is why every change needs your approval before it is published, and why you remain responsible for what appears on your website.

Examples on our website, including the sample business in our product preview and the chart on our homepage, are illustrations, not results. Real results are published only with the customer's consent, on the results page.

Our responsibility, and its limit

We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. If we fall short, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the problem. We are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profit, however they arise, except where the law does not allow that limit.

Nothing in these terms removes rights that the law gives you and does not let you give up.

Ending the service, and changes to these terms

You can end the service by cancelling. We can end it, with 30 days' notice and a refund of any part of a period already paid for, if we stop offering it, or immediately if you use it to publish content that is unlawful or that misleads people.

If we change these terms in a way that affects you, we email you 30 days before the change takes effect, and you can cancel before then at no cost. The date at the top of this page is the date the current version took effect.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute is heard in the courts of Sacramento County, California, unless the law where you live gives you the right to be heard elsewhere.
